Im Laufe der Jahre wurde das Schloss mehrmals umgebaut und erweitert. Als Folge des dreißigjährigen Krieges wurde der mächtige Renaissance-Bau jedoch fast dem Verfall preisgegeben.

During the years the castle was converted and extended several times. As a result of the Thirty Years´War the mighty renaissance construction fall almost into disrepair.
